PRIVATE MEMBERS DRAW

The first of ten draws in the Coláiste Chraobh Abhann Private Members Draw will be held on Friday 17th November at 9.00am.

 

TRIP TO KILLARY

A reminder to students on the Leaving Certificate Applied Programme that the balance of their deposit for the trip to Killary which takes place on Wednesday 22nd November 2006 is now due.  Deposits are to be paid to Ms Raughter, Ms Evers-Nolan or Ms Kennedy.

 

LEINSTER UNDER-14 CUP MATCH

Congratulations to the U-14 Soccer Panel who defeated Oatlands College, Stillorgan by a score of 1-0.  Goal scoring and ‘man of the match’ performance by Philip O’Connor of 2nd Year.

 

UNDER-19 GIRLS BASKETBALL MATCH

The Under-19 girls basketball team met East Glendalough on 9th November.  The girls played well but lost 32:17.  The team was Úna Britton, Jessica Golden, Laura Greene, Elizabeth Daly, Lisa Coffey, Leigh O’Neill, Lynne Keenan, Rosie Murray, Ciara Corcoran and Niamh Donnelly.  Well done to everyone involved.

 

SOCCER MATCHES

Under-18’s soccer team lost 4-0 at home against De la Salle on Wednesday 7th November.  The young squad of players gave a valiant performance up to the final whistle.  Colin Odlum was man of the match for Coláiste Chraobh Abhann.

 

The Under-16’s soccer team lost 4-1 against De la Salle on Thursday 8th November with Matthew Gilbert scoring for Coláiste Chraobh Abhann.  There were good performances by a few players, notably Conor Byrne and Tim Nairn.

 

GAELIC FOOTBALL MATCH

Coláiste Chraobh Abhann met Avondale Community College on Tuesday 7th November in the Under-14 Boys South Leinster Competition.  Coláiste Chraobh Abhann was down 5 goals at half time but staged a great comeback in the second half to win 7-7 to 6-5.  Man of the match was Kurt Starke.  Congratulations to everyone involved.

 

‘GO FOR IT’ FIGHT FOR FEAR

Students have been actively involved in encouraging their parents and teachers to participate in a TV Programme which will help adults overcome their fear of phobias such as heights, water, spiders, snakes, etc.  Watch this space for further news.

 

TALENT COMPETITION AUDITIONS

The next round of auditions for the Talent Competition will be held this Wednesday 15th November.  All participants involved in this audition must check for further details with Ms Horkan.
