Welcome

Welcome back to all students after a long and hopefully relaxing summer.  In particular we would like to welcome our 100 new first year students to Coláiste Chraobh Abhann and wish them success and happiness in their years with us.

 

Junior Cert. Results

Congratulations to all 4th and 5th year students who receive their Junior Certificate results last week.  It was a historic day for the school as it was the first set of state examination results ever received at Colaiste Chraobh Abhann.

 

Information Night for Parents of New Entrants

An information night will be held on Thursday 21st September at 8pm sharp for parents of all new students to the school.  This meeting is of vital importance in ensuring that all new students to the school will be happy and successful in the years to come.  The meeting will be followed by the AGM of the Parents’ Association at 9pm sharp.

 

Parents’ Association

The annual general meeting of the Parents’ Association will take place on Thursday 21st September at 9pm sharp.  The meeting will be chaired by the Chairperson of the Association, Mr Koen Verbruggen, and a report will be given by the treasurer and the secretary on the affairs of the association for the last academic year.  This year the Parents’ Council are proposing an amendment to the Constitution of the Parents’ Association and this will be voted on at the meeting.  Nominations for representation on the Parents’ Council for the coming year will be sought at the AGM

 

 Extra Curricular Activities

A full range of extra curricular activities, both sporting and non-sporting are presently available to students at the school.  In total there are 25 different activities on offer to students.  Students may get information regarding the activities from the student noticeboard in the main hall of the school.  Any parent wishing to obtain a copy of this list of activities may do so by calling to reception at the school. 

 

School Tours

Students in 2nd year should continue their deposits in the savings club for the school tour to Italy which takes place next Easter.  Transition Year students and Leaving Cert. Applied students as well as 1st years will be participating in outings in the coming weeks.
