SPORTS DAY
Our annual sports day takes place this Friday from 11a.m. The students are now busy getting their teams together for the events. There is also an inter-class competition, whereby the class with the highest number of points at the end of the day become the school champions. An enjoyable day is guaranteed for all!
PRIZE DAY
Prize Day will take place in the school on Friday May 25th. This is a chance for the school to recognise students in all aspects of their school and extra-curricular lives. Awards given on this day include Student of the Year, Sports Person of the Year, along with a number of Special Achievement awards. Students are also awarded in each of their subject areas.
TABLE QUIZ
The Parents’ Council held a table quiz last Thursday night. There was an excellent turn-out on the night and this event raised over €1200 for the school. Many thanks to all who came along and participated in what was a very enjoyable evening.
TRANSITION YEAR
Transition Year Exhibition Night will take place on Thursday May 31st at 8p.m. in the school. The students will display the work they have completed throughout the year in the various subject areas.
On the same night, students who participated in the Music Outreach Programme during the year will hold a concert in the school at 7p.m. All are welcome to attend.
HISTORY TRIP
On Monday May 14th, our first year students went on a history trip to Ferrycarrig in County Wexford. All students went to the National Irish Heritage Centre to trace Irish settlement from the Vikings to the Middle Ages, through a 90 minute tour and finishing with a fulacht fiadh demonstration.
GIRLS BASKETBALL
Well done to our first year girls’ basketball team who beat St. Mary’s in the last match of the season. Well done to all first and second year girls who have just finished their season and will hopefully have more luck next year!
SOCCER BLITZ
On Wednesday last, May 9th, our first year boys took part in a soccer blitz. The boys won two games and lost one, but were unfortunately knocked out in the end. The boys have put a huge amount of energy into soccer this year and we look forward to seeing them all back in action next year.
