PRIVATE MEMBERS DRAW

The sixth and seventh draws in the Parents’ Association Private Members Draw took place last week at morning assembly.  The prize winners in draw 6 were 1st Prize – Mr Nicky Roe, Kilcoole; 2nd Prize – Mr Joe O Toole, Greystones and 3rd Prize – Kavanagh family, Roundwood.  The winners in draw 7 were 1st Prize – Mr and Mrs Kenny, Kilcoole; 2nd Prize – Mr John Murphy, Greystones and 3rd Prize – Mr and Mrs Ward, Greystones.  There are three more draws with the tenth draw offering a first prize of €1000.  Tickets may still be bought from the school at €20 each.

 

OPEN NIGHT

Well done and thank you to all staff, students and parents who participated in our recent Open Night.  Many of our students helped out in the various subject areas and showed potential students all that our school has to offer.  The night was a great success.  Many thanks to all!

 

TALENT SHOW

The results of our Talent Show are in.  The winner was Austin Gaskin; second place went to Elizabeth Daly and her band, and joint third place went to The Gukes, aka Luke O Brien and Austin Gaskin and our duet, Megan Carroll and Cathal O Sullivan.  Well done to all involved!

 

THANK YOU

We would like to thank Fr.Belton for his recent visits to our school.  Fr.Belton has attended morning assembly in the past week to speak to our students about the importance of Advent in the lead up to Christmas.  He has given us many thoughts for the weeks ahead.

 

ADULT AND COMMUNITY EDUCATION

JUNIOR GIRLS GAELIC FOOTBALL

Congratulations to our Junior Girls Gaelic Football team who had a convincing 6-2 to 4-2 win over St.Davids, Greystones on Wednesday last.  All the girls put in a great performance on the day, with Most Valuable Player going to Gillian Synnott.  A newcomer to the team, Cathy McDonald, was also highly commended on the day.  Well done girls!

 

HIP-HOP DANCING

A reminder to all girls that hip-hop dancing takes place every Friday from 4-5p.m.  The girls learn a different routine every two weeks.  Everyone is invited to join in and take part.  The girls recently took part in our Talent Show and we look forward to seeing them perform again soon.

 

TRAINING

A reminder to all Senior Girls that Gaelic football training will take place on Wednesday from 2-3p.m.  The panel will include girls from third to sixth year.

Camogie training will take place on Wednesday from 2-3p.m.  Selections will be made for the Junior and first year teams.  Matches will begin in January.

Hurling training will also take place on Wednesday from 2-3p.m.
