SENIOR GAELIC FOOTBALL

Coláiste Chraobh Abhann 0-4    Avondale Community College 4-6

The opening match for our senior footballers, which took place on Friday October 12th, was a tough encounter with a very good Avondale side.  Avondale were very strong throughout the field and set up their win with 3 first half goals.  Despite making no inroads in the Avondale score, full credit to our players for trying very hard to the very end.  Our best players were Shane Keogh, Stuart Power and Michael Hackett in defence, Conor Byrne at midfield, Christy Power and Colin Odlum in attack and Matthew Mannix when introduced.  The team and scorers were John McDaid, Shane Keogh, John Halpin, Patrick Costello (0-1), Michael Hackett, Stuart Power, Shane Mooney, Conor Byrne, Matthew Gilbert (0-2), Colin Odlum (0-1), Austin Gaskin, Christy Power, Billy Clarkson, Marty Byrne, Sean Ryder.  Subs were Matthew Mannix, Conor Eccleston, Adam Coster, Thomas Messitt, Kevin Condon, Darren Farrell, William Owens and Vincent Hunt.

U14 BOYS SOCCER

Our U14 Boys Soccer team played against De La Salle Wicklow on Friday October 12th.  The boys put in a great performance throughout the entire game and were unlucky not to come away with a score.  De La Salle ended the match on a final score of 3-0.  The boys now face Abbey Community College next week in their final, must-win game.  Best of luck to all involved!

JUNIOR GAELIC FOOTBALL

Training for Junior Gaelic Football takes place each Thursday from 4-5.  Matches are beginning very soon.  All are welcome to come along and get involved.

SCHOOL TRIP

Our second year students will be going to Barcelona next Easter on their school trip.  It is hoped that all students are currently saving hard for this trip.  Notification will be given when the instalments are due.
