OPEN NIGHT

Open Night will be held this Thursday 6th December from 6.30pm to 9.00pm.  Open Night affords parents and children from the community and beyond an opportunity to visit the school, view its facilities and meet with staff and students.  We hope it will be a fun filled, eventful and entertaining evening for all who attend.  All students must be accompanied by an adult.  Classes will finish at 12.30p.m. on this day to allow time for the preparation of rooms.

 

TALENT SHOW

Well done to all students who took part in our annual Talent Show on Friday last, November 30th.  The show was a great success, with both staff and students enjoying the performances.  The results of the vote will be in very soon – watch this space!

Many thanks to all teachers and caretaking staff for the help and co-operation leading up to the event.

 

PRIVATE MEMBERS DRAW

The fourth and fifth draws in the Parents’ Association Private Members Draw took place last week at morning assembly.  The prize winners of draw 4 were 1st Prize – Mr & Mrs Hempenstall, Kilcoole; 2nd Prize – Emma Gammell & Benny Kavanagh, Kilcoole and 3rd Prize – Ms Sandra Phillips, c/o Coláiste Chraobh Abhann. The winners in draw 5 were 1st Prize – Mr & Mrs Costello, Wicklow; 2nd Prize – Mr & Mrs O Grady, Kilpeddar and 3rd Prize – Justin Fitzpatrick. There are five more draws with the tenth draw offering a first prize of €1000.  Tickets may still be bought from the school at €20 each.

 

TRANSITION YEAR
Our Transition Year students went on a trip to the Guinness brewery in Dublin on Monday last, December 3rd.  This was followed by ice-skating and some shopping in the city.  An enjoyable day was had by all students involved, with many memorable moments on the ice!

 

WORK EXPERIENCE

Best wishes to our Transition Year students who will be on work experience from Monday December 10th to Friday December 21st.  We wish them well and hope they gain a valuable insight into the world of work.

 

LIBRARY

The school library is currently looking for book donations.  Books must be in good condition and can be brought to the library at lunchtime or given to Ms. Kennedy at any time.  Many thanks to those who have already given books.

 

STAFF MEETING

A reminder to all students that classes will end at 12.30p.m. on Friday December 7th for a staff meeting.  Transport is arranged for this time.
