BOARD OF MANAGEMENT
A reminder to all that the next Board of Management meeting will take place on Monday March 12th 2007.
FIRST YEARS 2007-2008
An Information Night for incoming first year students and their parents will be held in the school on Thursday 8th March. All intending first years are encouraged to attend.
U13 BOYS SOCCER
Despite the dreadful weather conditions last Wednesday February 28, our U13 Boys soccer team had a very convincing win over De La Salle Wicklow. The final score was 4-0, with 2 goals each from Ciarán Byrne and Niall Crosbie. Man of the Match on the day for Coláiste Chraobh Abhann was Peter Burke. Well done lads!
GIRLS BASKETBALL
Our first and second year girls’ basketball teams met St. Killian’s Bray last week. Both teams put in a great performance but failed to come away victorious. The second year team lost out by only 1 point in the end. Star players for the team were Jessica Morrissey and Shauna Byrne, though a great effort was shown by all involved.
THANK YOU
A huge thank you from Coláiste Chraobh Abhann to Mrs Byrne, who has kindly sponsored new jerseys for the Senior Girls Gaelic team.
SCHOOL VISIT
On Thursday last, our school welcomed a group of visitors from Slovenia. They were on a visit to the school to see the facilities we had on offer here. Over the course of the morning, they were shown our ASD Unit, as well as our Multimedia Language Laboratory. Students from the Drama group showed off their acting skills, while our ICT Co-ordinator presented the ICT facilities in the school and demonstrated their impact on student motivation. The morning was thoroughly enjoyed by all involved.
