U14 BOYS SOCCER
Our U14 Boys’ Soccer team had a convincing 7-0 win over St. David’s Secondary School, Greystones, on Friday last, October 5th. Goal scorers for Coláiste Chraobh Abhann were Shane Doyle (5) and Darren Gammell (2). Man of the match on the day was Shane Doyle. Well done to all involved!
JUNIOR AND SENIOR CAMOGIE
Training for Junior and Senior camogie begins this Wednesday from 2-3p.m., and will continue every second Wednesday for the coming year. All interested students are encouraged to come along.
MUSIC OUTREACH PROGRAMME
The Music Outreach Programme continues to take place in the school every Wednesday. There are currently 32 students involved in this programme, and they are busy practising for our annual Talent Show which will take place on Friday November 30. There will be a matinee and an evening performance of the talent show. Details will follow.
YOUTH LEADERSHIP COMPETITION
The Youth Leadership competition is run by the Rotary Club of Ireland, in which 24 students in the country compete for a nomination to go to the European Parliament in Strasbourg. 1 student from Coláiste Chraobh Abhann will be going forward to the County Wicklow finals. Closing date for applications is Wednesday October 17th. More information is available from Ms. Raughter.
FÁILTE IRELAND ROADSHOW
Class 6LKY will attend the Fáilte Ireland Roadshow in the Druids Glen Marriott Hotel on Wednesday October 17th. This is an exhibition focussing on Careers in Tourism, and the students will have the opportunity to talk to various people and companies on the day.
TRANSITION YEAR
The Transition Year students will be travelling to Dun Laoghaire on Thursday October 18th to see ‘Psycho Spaghetti’. This is a one-man show in which the actor gives an insightful and humourous interpretation of the teenage mind.
CHOIR
Choir continues in the school every Friday morning at 8a.m. All students in the school are encouraged to get involved.
DEBATING
Best of luck to our Debating team, who are competing in the County Council Environmental Debating Competition on Thursday October 18th.

The elections for the new Student Council took place on Friday October 1st. The results are as follows:

PARENTS COUNCIL
The Parents’ Council have also been elected for the coming school year. The Council plays a very important role in the running of the school and we thank them for their continued support and co-operation.
