U14 BOYS GAELIC FOOTBALL
Our U14 Boys’ Gaelic Football team played against CBS Wexford on Friday January 11th. Coláiste Chraobh Abhann emerged as winners after a gripping and evenly matched game. CBS began the game the stronger of the two teams and after ten minutes, they were two goals in front. CCA were struggling to cope with the Wexford number 14 but when Darren Gammell went into the full-back position, the threat of the big full forward was curtailed. Meanwhile, James Kavanagh moved out to wing forward where he had a superb game. CCA improved steadily as the half progressed, and thanks to points from Daire Killen and a penalty from Ciarán Byrne, there was only a point in it to CBS at half-time. CCA continued their renaissance in the second half and a Man of the Match performance by Daniel Kavanagh, and exemplary defensive play by James Lennox and Ciarán Lawless helped CCA on their way to the semi-final.
Final score: CCA 2-10 CBS 2-6
