JUNIOR CERTIFICATE RESULTS
Congratulations to all our students who received their Junior Certificate results last Wednesday. There were plenty of cheers to be heard around the school, with all students being very pleased with their results. Well done to all!
INFORMATION NIGHT
An Information Night for parents of first year students will take place in the school this Thursday evening, September 20th, commencing at 8.00p.m. All parents are encouraged to attend this meeting. This meeting is of vital importance in ensuring that all new students to the school will be happy and successful in the years to come. The meeting will be followed by the AGM of the Parents’ Association at 9pm sharp.
PARENTS’ ASSOCIATION – ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING
The AGM of the Parents’ Association will be held immediately after the Information Night for Parents of 1st Year Students on Thursday September 20th. The AGM is for parents of ALL students in the school. The meeting will commence at approximately 9.00pm. It will be chaired by Mr Koenraad Verbruggen, Chairperson of the Parents’ Council. The Secretary and Treasurer will submit written reports for consideration by the members attending the AGM. Nominations for representation on the Parents’ Council for the coming year will be sought at the AGM
STUDENT COUNCIL
The Student Council elections for the academic year 2007-2008 will take place during the week of Tuesday September 25th to Monday October 1st. All students involved will be busy preparing their manifestos, which will be presented to students over the course of the week. The Student Council plays a very important role in our school, and are actively involved in many decisions concerning the student body.
ANTI-BULLYING WEEK
Anti-Bullying week will take place in our school from Monday September 24th to Friday September 28th. The week, which has been an annual event on the school calendar, has been very successful in raising awareness and consciousness around the issue of bullying in schools. A range of activities across the year groups and involving teachers in all subject areas has ensured the success of the programme. Students will, among many other things, participate in a poetry and short story competition as well as a poster competition in Art.
CHANGE TO CALENDAR
A reminder to all parents that the scheduled staff meeting for Friday 21st September will now take place on Friday 29th September. The usual procedures apply in that classes finish at 12.35pm for students and transport will be available for students who are eligible.
