Congratulations to the Coláiste Chraobh Abhann basketball squads, who played very well in the U16 and U19 basketball matches on Wednesday October 8th. The lads have another match on Friday against Gorey. Hopefully their hard work at training this week will pay off. Congratulations to De La Salle Wicklow who won the tournament on Wednesday.
Friday’s match away to Gorey saw a heartbreaking defeat for the U16 boys’ basketball team. An intense game ending in a draw which pushed into extra time. Final score: CCA 18 Gorey 23. Top scorer was Calvin Swords, with excellent defensive play from Ronan Marah and Kyle Corcoran. All the lads did the team proud.
The U19 boys dominated the first quarter leading up to half-time. However the final score ended Gorey 33 CCA 17. Top scorers were Conor Verbruggen and Peter Scales. Great defensive play from the whole team.
