U14 GAELIC FOOTBALL
Hard luck to our boys who represented Coláiste Chraobh Abhann so courageously against Wicklow De La Salle in the U14 Gaelic Football championship. Despite being up by 1-10 to 0-5 at half time, the De La Salle boys, with a little help from a powerful wind, propelled the homeside to a 4-13 to 1-12 victory. Ciarán Lawless at centre forward scored some fine points and ended up with 0-5 under his belt. Meanwhile at the other end, Stephen McGuinness put in an outstanding performance in between the posts and the score would have been a lot greater were it not for his shot-stopping ability.
FIRST YEAR BOYS’ GAELIC FOOTBALL
Our first year boys played out a thrilling game of gaelic football last Monday against Avondale. Trailing by several points at half time, our lads dug deep in the second half to leave the score at full time 4-08 to 4-08. Stuart Synnott played brilliantly in midfield, while Aidan Carthy and Owen O Brien played excellently in defence. Honourable mentions go to Seán Odlum, Eoghan Maher and Stephen Davis.
U16 BOYS’ SOCCER
The U16 boys won their Leinster Cup match against Dublin Oak on a scoreline of 4-0, with Gary Elliott scoring three of the goals and Ciarán Byrne with the fourth. An excellent performance by all players.
