PRIMARY SCHOOL TRANSFER PROGRAMME
On Wednesday November 19th, pupils from all of our four ‘catchment/feeder’ schools visited Coláiste Chraobh Abhann as part of our ‘Primary to Secondary School Transfer Programme’. Both pupils and teachers enjoyed the experience and the day proved to be a great success. Thank you and well done to all involved!
OPEN NIGHT
Open Night will be held on Thursday 4th December from 6.30pm to 9.00pm. Open Night affords parents and children from the community and beyond an opportunity to visit the school, view its facilities and meet with staff and students. We hope it will be a fun filled, eventful and entertaining evening for all who attend. Classes will end at 12.35p.m. to facilitate preparations for the night. Transport is not guaranteed at this time.
PRIVATE MEMBERS DRAW
The second and third draws in the Parents’ Association Private Members Draw took place on Tuesday November 19th and Friday November 21st at morning assembly. The prize winners of draw 2 were 1st Prize – Mark Mannix, Kilcoole; 2nd Prize – Mr & Mrs Murray, Bray and 3rd Prize – Bridgid Murray, Newtown. The winners in draw 3 were 1st Prize – Mr & Mrs Layton, Kilcoole; 2nd Prize – Aoife Gaffney, Kilcoole and 3rd Prize – Mr & Mrs Roe, Kilpeddar. There are seven more draws with the tenth draw offering a first prize of €1000. Tickets may still be bought from the school at €20 each.
PARENT TEACHER MEETING
A reminder to all parents and guardians of Second Year students that the Parent-Teacher meeting will take place this Thursday November 27th from 1.15p.m. to 3.45p.m. Classes will end at 12.35p.m. Transport is not guaranteed at this time.
U19 GIRLS BASKETBALL
The U19 girls basketball team won their match against St. David’s in Greystones on November 18th with a final score of 32 – 10. Our girls led from the start in a well-rounded performance.
Unfortunately the girls lost their match against Avondale on Monday last.
STAFF MEETING

ANTI-BULLYING WEEK
During Anti-Bullying week, second year art groups entered a poster competition. The winners were announced at second year assembly on Tuesday morning and they were: Andrew Waters and Anna Sinkowska. They each got a voucher for Premier Arts & Crafts and their winning entries will be published in next years’ journal.
WORK EXPERIENCE
Our fifth year LCA group are currently on work experience. We wish them well in their respective placements.
U14 LEINSTER CUP
Our U14 boys team were beaten under very unfortunate circumstances last Tuesday in the first round of the Leinster Cup. The boys played a very good 90 minutes, followed by extra time and were very unlucky to then lose on penalties.
