OPEN NIGHT

Open Night will be held on Thursday 4th December from 6.30pm to 9.00pm.  Open Night affords parents and children from the community and beyond an opportunity to visit the school, view its facilities and meet with staff and students.  We hope it will be a fun filled, eventful and entertaining evening for all who attend.  Classes will end at 12.35p.m. to facilitate preparations for the night.  Transport is not guaranteed at this time.

 

PRIVATE MEMBERS DRAW

The fourth and fifth draws in the Parents’ Association Private Members Draw took place on Tuesday November 25th and Friday November 28th at morning assembly.  The prize winners of draw 4 were 1st Prize – Mr McDonald and Ms Harmon, Kilpeddar; 2nd Prize – Martin Stacey, Roundwood and 3rd Prize – Mr. Evoy.  The winners in draw 5 were 1st Prize – Betty Doyle, c/o Coughlans Kilcoole; 2nd Prize – Aoife Gaffney, Kilcoole and 3rd Prize – Mr and Mrs Carey, Wicklow. There are five more draws with the tenth draw offering a first prize of €1000.  Tickets may still be bought from the school at €20 each.

 

STAFF MEETING

A reminder to all that there will be a staff meeting on Friday December 5th from 1.15p.m. to 3.45p.m.  Classes will end at 12.35p.m.  Transport is not guaranteed at this time.

 

INSERVICE

There will be a staff inservice on Monday next, December 8th.  School will be closed for students on that day.

 

TRANSITION YEAR
On Tuesday last, all Transition Year students went to the Irish Film Institute in Dublin to see a French movie, ‘De Battre Mon Coeur S’est Arreté – The Beat That My Heart Skipped’. 

The students have also completed their First Aid exam, which was facilitated by Mr. John Keegan from the Irish Red Cross.

 

WELL DONE

Congratulations to Amy Diviney in Transition Year, who recently submitted an essay to the recent REMEDI National Science Essay Competition entitled “Boundaries of Sciende: Is there anything we should not do?”  Amy’s essay was shortlisted int the top five entrants and, as such, received an official commendation from the judging panel.  Well done Amy!
