GIVE IT A SWIRL
Well done to our Transition Year students who took part in the ‘Give It A Swirl’ Day of volunteering last Friday, September 21st.  The students hosted a coffee morning for elderly people in our community, with many enjoying a cup of tea and a chat with our students.  The students also took part in litter picking in the local area.  Many thanks to all who participated in this worthwhile day.

ANTI-BULLYING WEEK

Our annual Anti-Bullying Week took place in the school last year.  Students were addressed in each assembly about the importance of creating a safe environment within the school.  Students expressed their own feelings towards the issue of bullying through poetry, essay writing and poster competitions.

STUDENT COUNCIL

Our Student Council elections took place last Thursday.  Each year group was given an opportunity to vote for a boy and girl to represent their year on the council.  We would like to express our thanks to the outgoing council for their hard work last year.  Best wishes to our new council as they take up their new positions within the school.

TRANSITION YEAR

Our Transition Year students visited Causey Farm in County Meath last Thursday and Friday.  This team-building experience was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone involved.  While on the farm, students were afforded many opportunities – from milking cows, baking homemade bread and taking a bodhrán lesson to bog-trotting and taking in a guided tour of Slane Castle!  Many thanks to all teachers who accompanied the students on this fantastic trip.
