YOUNG SOCIAL INNOVATORS
Well done to the Transition Year students who won an award at the recent YSI Speak Out in Croke Park. The students won the prize for Best Communication, Involvement in the Community and Staff Involvement for their pilot project. All activities in the YSI project are on display in the school.
HISTORY TRIP
The CCA History Society visited Dalkey Castle on Friday last, May 7th. This tour covered Viking and Norman history and the interactive nature of the tour gave students an excellent insight into what it was like to live in a castle. The tour was thoroughly enjoyed by all students.
TRANSITION YEAR SOCCER MATCH
The annual soccer match between Transition Year students and the teachers will take place today, Wednesday, at 12.45p.m. The students will be looking to hold on to their victory from last year. Watch this space!
REFEREE COURSE
Well done to a group of Transition Year students who recently qualified as referees, having completed the Young Whistlers’ Referee Course. The students involved are Ronan Marah, Calvin Swords, Robert Scott, Caressa O Toole, Neil Foot, Liam de Hora and Sean Heffernan.
TRANSITION YEAR
A group of Transition Year students recently visited the Active Retirement Association in Newtown to meet with the people there and talk to them about their lives. The students are currently writing up the biographies for them.
FIRST AID
All Transition Year students will be taking part in a First Aid course on Tuesday May 11th and Thursday May 13th, under the direction of Mr. John Keegan.
GAISCE
Twenty Transition Year students will be going on an overnight trip on Wednesday May 19th, as part of the Gaisce. As part of the activities, the students will walk from Glenmalure to Glendalough, spend the night in a hostel and complete another walk on Thursday May 20th. Good luck to all involved!
