HISTORY TRIP

The CCA History Society is organising a tour to Dalkey Castle on Friday 7th May for first and second year students.  This tour covers Viking and Norman history and the interactive nature of the tour will give students an excellent insight into what it was like to live in a castle.

 

FIRST YEAR GAELIC FOOTBALL

Commiserations to our First Year Gaelic Football team who were beaten by St. Brendan’s on Friday April 16th in the semi-final of the County Wicklow Schools B competition.   An excellent performance from all players, with particular mention going to Kyle Flynn, Darragh Carty, Thomas Loughlin-White, Daniel Argiriu, Zack Meakin (1-0) and Man of the Match, Ciaran Daly (0-4).

 

CHARLESLAND ATHLETICS

Well done to all students who recently took part in Charlesland Athletics.  A special mention to the first year girl’s tug of war team who won first place and to Katie Coleman who won first place in the shot putt.  Well done to Eoghan Marah who won first in the javelin and third in the 800m, and to the second year girls who won third place in the tug of war competition.  Jack Moran Lowry won third place in the high jump.  Congratulations to the third year girls who won first prize in the team relay, to Niamh Dalton who won third place in the javelin, to Aisling McCabe who won first place in the 100m sprint and third in the 800m.  Well done to Sean Ryder who won first place in the javelin.

 

SCIFEST 2010

Well done and best wishes to Bella Leone and Emma Kavanagh who will be representing our school at the upcoming SciFest 2010 in the Institute of Technology Tallaght on Friday May 7th.  The girls, who will be accompanied by their science teacher, Ms Murray, will display their project on ‘How your shoe choice affects your feet’, which they also entered into the Young Scientist Exhibition in January.

 

JUNIOR LADIES FOOTBALL

Hard luck to the Junior Ladies football team who lost their semi-final last Thursday to Baltinglass.  The girls put up a brave fight, especially Katie Coleman in the goals.  Well done to all involved!

 

SCHOOL CLOSURE

A reminder to all parents and guardians that the school will be closed on Friday April 30th and Monday May 3rd.
