School Reports 2007 - 2008
SPORTS DAY
Our annual sports day took place last Friday, May 16th. The rain held off for the day and lots of fun was had. Many students left the school with gold, silver or bronze medals in their pockets. Many thanks to Bray Wanderers Football Club, who hosted the novelty ‘Penalty Shoot-out’ competition. Well done to everyone who took part!
TEACHER – STUDENT SOCCER MATCH
Commiserations to our teachers, who lost 4-2 in the Teacher – Student Soccer match last Wednesday. The students were just too strong on the day. The teachers are vowing to win back the title next year!
WELL DONE
Congratulations to Sinaoife Andrews, Holly Neary and Katie Merriman, who were all highly commended and awarded certificates in the 54th Annual Texaco Childrens’ Art Competition. The girls were competing against 32,000 other entries. Well done to you girls!
ENVIRONMENTAL AWARENESS PROGRAMME
Well done to Keelin Drew and Anna McGlynn-White, who came second in the Social category of the Environmental Awareness Programme, for their project on Scotopic Sensitivity Syndrome.
Congratulations also to Oisín Nolan, Elizabeth Daly, Úna Britton and Jessica Golden, who won a special award for their Road Safety project.
TRANSITION YEAR EXHIBITION NIGHT
The annual Transition Year Exhibition Night will take place in the school on Wednesday May 28th at 7.30p.m. All parents and guardians of Transition Year students are invited to attend and view the work of our students throughout the year.
GRADUATION CEREMONY
The Sixth Year Graduation Ceremony will take place in the school on Tuesday May 27th at 7.30p.m. This will be our first graduation ceremony and we wish all our Leaving Certificate Applied students all the best in their upcoming exams and indeed for the future.
PRIZE DAY
Our annual Prize Day will be taking place this Friday, May 23rd. There will be two sessions – Senior Prize Day will take place in the morning and Junior Prize Day will take place in the afternoon. It is the school’s chance to award students for their academic and extra-curricular achievements throughout the year, with the main award going for ‘Rogha na Bliana’, the Boy and Girl of each year group.
MUSIC OUTREACH PROGRAMME CONCERT
The Music Outreach Programme Concert will take place in the school on Thursday May 29th at 7.30p.m. This is an opportunity for all to see the work of the Music Outreach Programme in the school throughout the year and is guaranteed to be an evening of entertainment.
